Section 2: Project Information

The Workshop in Urban Data Storytelling emphasizes applied, practical learning. As such, each team / individual participant will learn about, and practice, data analysis and storytelling using a specific, real planning-related project of their choosing. This project will be the basis for the learning and assignments. This should be an active project related to urban planning or policy. It should be a project that you are familiar with and have clear goals for.

Please describe a project you are working on and which you would like to use for the workshop. Include information about (a) your project goals, (b) the project history/timeline, (c) key stakeholders for this project, and (d) how this project addresses a local urban issue. If you do not have a project, just enter "none".

We strongly encourage you to come with a project. The Workshop in Urban Data Storytelling emphasizes applied, practical learning. If you not have a project in mind, please indicate your field of interest (e.g. housing, transportation, environment). We will do our best to accommodate you. A significant portion of the Workshop focuses on helping you develop practical data processing, analysis, and visualization skills. The following questions will help us set a baseline understanding of your proficiency and interest, so that we can better support your learning should you be accepted into the program.
